Omega, comprising 226 hectares straddling the M62 Motorway in Warrington, Cheshire is a property development site. The site comprises a large part of the former RAF/USAF Burtonwood airbase. A new junction on the M62 (junction 8) was built in anticipation of the development.〔(Junction 8, M62 opens in time for Christmas - Northwest Regional Development Agency )〕 The whole site will provide 650,000 sq m of offices, manufacturing and distribution space along with ancillary leisure/retail facilities, hotel and conference facilities. Around 24,000 jobs are likely to be created over the lifetime of the scheme to make one of Europe's largest business parks.〔(Military Base Redevelopment: A Fighting Chance, Site Selection Magazine, November 2002 )〕 Owing to the economic downtown, planning conditions were relaxed in 2011 to allow phased development. In July 2012 it was announced that the long-awaited £1bn development of Warrington’s Omega business park is to begin with a 200,000 sq ft warehouse and a £7 million contract for new roads at Omega North, which will open the site for further development.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/news/business/commercial_property/s/1583572_miller-developments-starts-1bn-omega-site )〕 A new railway station has been proposed to serve the Omega site. ==References== 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Omega Development Site」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
